The Cook: Part One Trivia Challenge

1. Sponsor

The Cook: Part One Trivia Challenge ("Contest") is sponsored and administered by House of Jeppsson Publishing ("Sponsor").

This Contest is independently administered by House of Jeppsson Publishing. YouTube is not a sponsor of, affiliated with, or responsible for the Contest.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins when the trivia challenge is published on the House of Jeppsson website and ends on September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central European Summer Time (CEST).

Entries received after the Contest has closed will not be eligible.

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to individuals who are [18 years of age or older / AGE TO BE DECIDED] at the time of entry and who reside in [ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES/TERRITORIES TO BE DECIDED].

The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Employees, contractors, representatives, and immediate family members of House of Jeppsson Publishing are not eligible to enter.

Participation in the Contest constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules.

4. How to Enter

To enter, participants must complete and submit the official The Cook: Part One Trivia Challenge form available through the House of Jeppsson website before the Contest deadline.

There is no fee or purchase required to enter.

Limit one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted by or on behalf of the same individual may be disqualified.

Entrants are not required to subscribe to a YouTube channel, watch a YouTube video, like or comment on content, share content, make a purchase, join a mailing list, or otherwise engage with House of Jeppsson Publishing on social media as a condition of entry.

5. Trivia Questions and Scoring

The Contest consists of trivia questions based upon The Cook: Part One | Sea Brine & Smoke.

Each correctly answered standard trivia question is worth one point.

The designated Bonus Question is worth one additional point.

The entrant with the highest total score among all eligible entries will be selected as the potential winner.

6. Tiebreaker

If two or more eligible entrants achieve the same highest score, the designated tiebreaker question will be used to determine the winner.

If two or more entrants remain tied after application of the tiebreaker, the winner will be selected by random drawing from among those remaining tied highest-scoring eligible entrants.

The Sponsor's determination of scores and application of the stated tiebreaking procedure will be final, subject to applicable law.

7. Prize

One winner will receive one autographed copy of The Cook: Part One | Sea Brine & Smoke by S.J. Jeppsson.

Approximate retail value: [INSERT VALUE AND CURRENCY].

No cash alternative or substitution will be provided except where required by law or where the Sponsor determines that substitution is necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. In such circumstances, the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

The Sponsor will cover ordinary shipping costs to the winner at an eligible delivery address.

Any taxes, duties, customs charges, or other obligations associated with acceptance of the prize will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

8. Winner Notification

The potential winner will be contacted privately using the email address provided with the Contest entry.

The potential winner must respond within [7 DAYS] of the notification being sent and provide the information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility and deliver the prize, including the winner's legal name and mailing address.

If the potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within the stated period, is found to be ineligible, or fails to provide information reasonably required for prize fulfillment, the Sponsor may select the next eligible entrant according to the scoring and tiebreaking procedures described in these Official Rules.

9. Names and Entrant Identity

Entrants are not required to provide their legal name when submitting the trivia form and may enter using a preferred name, pen name, screen name, or other identifier.

The selected winner will be required to provide their legal name and accurate mailing information privately for eligibility verification and prize fulfillment.

Providing false information for the purpose of circumventing eligibility requirements or obtaining a prize may result in disqualification.

10. Privacy and Use of Personal Information

Information submitted in connection with the Contest will be collected and processed by House of Jeppsson Publishing for the purpose of administering the Contest, evaluating entries, contacting the potential winner, verifying eligibility, and fulfilling the prize.

An entrant's email address will not be added to a marketing mailing list or used to send promotional email solely because the individual entered the Contest.

Personal information collected for Contest administration will not be sold to third parties.

Only information reasonably necessary for administration of the Contest and prize fulfillment will be requested.

Information concerning non-winning entrants will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for Contest administration, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and compliance with applicable legal obligations, after which it will be deleted or anonymized as appropriate.

Information provided by the winner may be retained for any additional period required for accounting, tax, legal, or other legitimate recordkeeping obligations.

Participation in the Contest does not constitute consent to receive marketing communications from House of Jeppsson Publishing.

11. Winner Announcement

The winner will be notified privately by email before any public announcement is made.

The Sponsor may subsequently announce the winner using the name, preferred name, pen name, or screen name agreed upon with the winner.

The winner's email address, mailing address, or other private contact information will not be publicly disclosed.

This is worth spelling out because Denmark's Data Protection Authority specifically notes that publishing personal information on a website or social media constitutes disclosure of personal data.

12. Fair Play and Disqualification

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify an entrant who:

• submits more than one entry;

• provides materially false eligibility information;

• attempts to interfere with or manipulate the Contest, scoring system, website, entry form, or submission process;

• uses automated means to submit entries;

• engages in fraud, deception, or other conduct that compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest; or

• otherwise violates these Official Rules.

A clerical or technical error that does not provide an entrant with an unfair advantage will not automatically result in disqualification.

13. Technical Problems

The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or not received because of internet outages, website failures, transmission errors, or other technical problems beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control.

If a technical failure materially affects the fairness or administration of the Contest, the Sponsor may take reasonable steps to correct the problem, extend the entry period, suspend the Contest, or modify its administration, provided that any such action is consistent with applicable law and does not unfairly disadvantage entrants.

14. YouTube Disclaimer

The Contest may be announced or promoted through YouTube but is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with YouTube.

By participating in the Contest, entrants agree, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to release YouTube from liability arising from or related to the Contest.

Participation associated with YouTube must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines. Entries or conduct that violate those guidelines may be disqualified.

The Contest will not require or encourage entrants to manipulate YouTube metrics, including views, likes, dislikes, comments, or subscriber counts.

These provisions track YouTube's current contest requirements.

15. General Conditions

The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, extend, or modify the Contest if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make it impossible to conduct the Contest fairly or as originally intended, subject to applicable law.

Any changes affecting participation, eligibility, winner selection, or prize fulfillment will be communicated clearly on the Contest page.

The Sponsor will administer the Contest in accordance with these Official Rules and will award the prize according to the scoring and tiebreaking procedures stated above.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Sponsor will not be responsible for losses or damages resulting from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of the prize, except where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Official Rules excludes or limits any rights or protections that an entrant is entitled to under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

17. Governing Law

The Contest and these Official Rules are governed by applicable Danish law, without depriving entrants of any mandatory consumer protections that may apply to them under the laws of their country of residence.
